How do I configure Microsoft Outlook?

Here is a screen by screen guide of how to set up Microsoft Outlook to use with your Razyr hosted email account.

You may be using a newer or older version of Outlook, but the settings will essentially be the same.  If you are using an older version, look under the Tools menu for the Account Settings option to get you started.  

For Outlook 2010 or 2013 begin by clicking the File tab in the top menu, then Account Settings and the new Account Setting box that pops up.



Highlight your account and click "Change" (or "New..." if you are setting up a new account on this computer).




Update the screen with the following information.  We strongly recommend that business customers use POP3 as the Account Type.

Your Name:   Your name as you want others to see it when you send them mail

Email Address:  Your full email address

Account Type:  POP3

Incoming Mail Server:

Outgoing Mail Server:

User Name:   Your full email address

Password:   Your password

Check Box:  Remember Password

Click the "More Settings" button



Click the Outgoing Server tab.

Check "My outgoing server requires authentication"

Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"



Click the Advanced Tab

Check the box "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)

Set the Incoming Server Pop3 value to 995

Change "Use the following type of encrypted connection" to TLS

Set the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" value to 587

If you also access your email from a smart phone or tablet, set the options to leave mail on the server and remove after 10 days.  (If you don't remove mail after 10 days, you will quickly exhaust your message quota on the server.)

Click OK




Back on the main account setup screen, click the "Test Account Settings" button.

You should get two green check boxes.   If yes, close all of the open dialogues and enjoy your mail account.   If not, then double check your settings.  Be especially careful of how you spelled the server names   MAIL1.RAZYR.NET.
